Exercise and physiotherapy

Exercises are an important component of rehabilitation for all forms of injury and pain.

Exercise may include stretching or strengthening exercises that you perform at the gym or at home.  They may also involve the use of equipment and the supervision of your physiotherapist or myotherapist in the fully equipped rehabilitation gym that is onsite here at Fountain Gate Physiotherapy.

The benefit of performing exercise is increasing the strength or flexibility of the muscles and joints in your body.  Exercise is also beneficial in weight control, reduce blood pressure and improving blood sugar control.

A physiotherapist is trained to correctly assess your body and prescribe the appropriate exercises for your issue.  They will review your exercises at regular periods to correct technique, progress the resistance or change the exercise as required.

Clinical pilates is a form of exercise that aims to increase the stability of your core abdominal muscles.  It helps to improve posture, flexibility and pain.
